There's a lot more I could go on about, but it either felt too pretentious or too much like rambling for its own sake. What I would like to write here, before I get to the main event, is that after all this time, I still love doing this. Even with having to take time to market The Brotherhood of the Black Flag to the world at large, not to mention numerous non-writing responsibilities, I've still been fortunate to find opportunities to keep the INCspotlight going, and I'm grateful to everyone who has encouraged, enabled, or inspired me to do so in one way or another.
So in recognition of this, and to mark the INCspotlight's five year anniversary, I'd like to share my top ten favorite INCspotlight reviews from the past five years.
But first, before I go over my favorite, I also want to take a look at my top five least favorite reviews. For one reason or another, these just fell short in my estimation, and I'd like to think that I've learned from them and haven't repeated past mistakes.
So without further ado, here are my Top Five Least Favorite INCspotlight reviews, followed by my Top Ten Favorites! (There are clickable links in the titles so you can read them and judge for yourself, if you're so inclined - they'll open in separate windows.)
And coming in at number one...
So, yeah, I definitely felt some self-imposed pressure to really get this one right, and it took a lot of time and quite a few false starts before I even began to feel satisfied with my review of Highlander: the Series. I don't even remember how long it took, although I started long before I even knew it was going to be the 100th review or the last weekly one. Besides, I obviously had a great time getting to revisit my favorite TV show, bonus materials and all. Best of all, I ended up with even more of an appreciation for how the series and the characters changed and evolved over time. (When I originally posted it on Channel Awesome, I idiotically split it into two parts, Here on my own site, it's now a three-part review, just to give you an idea how massive this thing was when it was complete.)
