Last week, we lost the incomparable and irreplaceable Leonard Nimoy. As a tribute, I'm spotlighting something that's been on my list to review for a long time: Spock vs. Q, a comedic duel of wits between two of my favorite Star Trek characters.
WARNING: Here be spoilers! Read further at your own risk!
The sequel picks up right where the first part left off. Apparently, Q had gone to dinner with Spock and the rest of the original Enterprise crew in between - oh, what I wouldn't give to have seen/heard THAT. However, they somehow find themselves transported onto the asteroid Q diverted in the first part. Not only that, but Q and Spock have swapped personalities - now Q is the serious logical one, and Spock is wisecracking and making light of their situation. But that's not all they've swapped; Spock now has Q's powers, and Q has to teach him how to use them in time to save themselves from imminent death.
Spock vs. Q may not be the space opera some of you might be hoping to see with these two characters interacting, but it's a lot of fun. Give it a listen for its own sake, and as a great way to remember Leonard Nimoy.
