In the year and a half (!!!) since I started this blog, I've spotlighted the works of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and other martial arts superstars. This week, it's finally Jet Li's turn.

As often as I've mentioned Jackie Chan on this blog, it's funny that I haven't actually reviewed any of his movies yet. (My Hand of Death review doesn't really count, since Jackie just had a supporting role in that.) It was hard picking out which one to do first, but since Snake in the Eagle's Shadow is the film that made him a star, I went with that one. (Originally posted on Channel Awesome on August 18, 2014)
I am not by any means a Keanu Reeves fan (of his acting, anyway - he's a decent guy in real life). I am, however, a huge fan of martial arts movies and actors playing against type. With Reeves not only playing the villain but also making his directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi definitely got my attention. However, I wasn't expecting to like this movie as much as I did. My biggest regret about Bruce Lee Month is that I can't end it on a high note. Game of Death not only alternates between hilariously bad and just plain bad, but insults the memory of Bruce Lee. I always thought that Scaramouche (1952) would be the subject of my first all-out negative review on this blog, but Game of Death is more than worthy of that "honor." For no other reason than because I felt like it, it's Bruce Lee Month here on the INCspotlight! Every Monday this March, I'll be reviewing one of Lee's movies (so if that's not your thing, I guess I'll see you back here in April). (Originally posted on Channel Awesome on December 23, 2013)
